Olympic Ministry a Huge Success

Our Olympic Ministry Team from Jones Baptist Association had an impact at the 2026 Milan/Cortina Italy Games. The Gospel message was shared through pin trading to folks from over 30 countries. If you would like a member of our team to come and share about this exciting ministry reach out to the Associational office at 601-649-8114.

Ronney Joe’ Ramblings - Olympics and One Year Anniversary

The 2026 Olympic Winter Games Ministry was awesome! This was my 3rd Olympic Ministry opportunity and I love being able to go and share my faith with the world. Our team in Milan saw 5 confirmed professions of faith and a total of 9 with the Venice/Cortina Team. It is so exciting to see people understand the Gospel message and respond right where they are and praying to make Jesus Lord of their life. And that is why we go. People from all nations are right in front of you and wanting to trade pins and talk. What an opportunity to plant seeds for Christ. Thank you to all who support the mission effort. We look forward to LA28!!

It hard to believe a year has almost passed since my calling back to Jones County to be the Director of Missions and Associational Mission Strategist for Jones Baptist Associations. What a whirlwind of activity and Kingdom work. I am continually amazed at what God is doing through our Jones Baptist Association of churches. Many exciting things are just around the corner and I hope you will plan to join us in these events and mission trips/projects.

It has been a pleasure getting to know our pastors and to preach in many of our churches. I look forward to getting opportunity to see and preach in many others soon. So, don’t hesitate to reach out!

God has big plans for Jones Baptist Association and I pray you plan to get in on where God is at work in your Church, our County and around the Globe!

In His Sunshine,

Activating the Church for Service in Italy, the Olympics, and Life-Changing Conversations

This trip to Italy was absolutely incredible—truly like no other. From the energy of Milano to the beauty of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the one-of-a-kind charm of Venice, and the stunning views and peaceful atmosphere of Lake Como, every place was unique and unforgettable. The excitement of the Olympic Games was truly on another level. The crowds, the energy, and the feeling that the world had gathered there—it was amazing to experience. But the most meaningful part was sharing the Gospel one-on-one through the pin ministry. I can’t remember a time when I had been able to speak so openly about my faith with people who were truly willing and eager to listen. Over the course of

the trip, our team of eight had the opportunity to share the Gospel with hundreds of people. When we counted it up, those conversations represented at least 38 different countries from around the world. Between our team serving in Venice and Cortina and another team serving in Milano, we know of at least nine people who chose to become Christians. It was incredible to think that for some, this was the very first time they had ever heard

the story of Jesus. The days were long and we were tired, but we were grateful and determined to finish strong. Thank you for praying for us as we wrapped up our time there. I can’t wait to share more now that we’re back home.

VBS Mission Offering: Montana Mission Trip 2026

This year our VBS offering will help support a mission team of 35 people traveling to Montana July 25 – August 2, 2026. Our team will be serving in the communities of Pablo, Montana and Ronan, Montana.

Your gifts will help support three important mission projects:

1. Church Improvement – Pablo Baptist Church
Helping with repairs and improvements so the church can continue reaching their community.

2. Fair Ministry Outreach – Ronan, Montana
Sharing the love of Jesus with children and families during a local county fair through games, activities, and ministry.

3. Support a Team Member
Helping offset travel and ministry expenses for those serving on the mission team.

Every gift—big or small—helps us share the love of Jesus in Montana!

Mission Mobilization

Dear Church and Community Leaders,

The Local Salvation Army is entering a new season under new leadership and is actively working to rebuild its reputation and strengthen its presence in our community. Several faith-based organizations are coming alongside them during this time, and we at the Jones Baptist Association would love for you to be part of this collective effort.

Our hope is to coordinate meals for an entire year by partnering with 30–31 churches or community organizations, each committing to serve one day per month. This shared commitment would mean your church or organization would serve 12 times throughout the year, making a meaningful and consistent impact.

What the commitment includes:

·       Providing a meal that serves up to 40 people (numbers vary week to week)

·       Sending 3-6 volunteers to help with serving (when possible)

·       Serving one designated day each month

By working together, we can help the Salvation Army continue rebuilding trust, meeting needs, and serving our neighbors with consistency and care.

If your church or organization is interested in participating or would like more details, we would be grateful to connect with you and discuss next steps.

Thank you for your continued faithfulness in serving our community.

Blessings,

Jones Baptist Association

Greetings in the name of the Lord from your BSU at Jones College. I hope this finds you well in these beautiful spring days. It is so great the see new growth spring up all around. It is also great to see the growth the Lord is allowing me to see in many of the students He is bringing to the BSU. Let me share a few highlights of what the Lord is doing this spring in your BSU at Jones. As I mentioned in my last letter, we had a great trip to the Creation Museum & Ark in December. That was the culmination of a good semester with much student involvement in our study of John 14:6 and in our campus outreach. The trip set the pace for continued involvement in BSU this spring. On Tuesday nights this semester I have been teaching a topical study throughout the Bible on the attributes of God and how we can draw strength from knowing Him better. On Monday & Thursday nights we have small groups that have been studying the cost of being a disciple or follower of Jesus. It has been such a blessing to see things click with the students as the Lord reveals His Truth to them. At the end of last semester we had interviewed 11 summer missionaries to serve this summer. Statewide our summer missionaries are up. In spite of that there were still a few requests that did not get filled. As we shared those needs with our students at Jones, we had 6 more apply to fill those needs bringing our number to 17. Again it has been a blessing to see the Lord work in the lives of students and to see them respond to needs like this. In preparation for the summer we have been doing a series of evangelism trainings, which includes the students going out on campus to witness. Although they have not seen anyone come to faith yet, our students have had some neat interactions as they have shared the gospel with people. Please continue to pray for them and for the students with whom they will share. Although the Lord blessed us to raise $18K last semester for missions, we still need to raise another $30K this semester to help send out the 17 who have applied. We have already raised $7K leaving us needing to raise only $23K by May. We are in the midst of setting up for our spring rummage sale for missions, which we hope will generate a large sum. We are in the midst of a “Change War” between the boys and girls, which we hope will bring in a good amount. We are in the planning stages of a Spring Mission Banquet in April, and I know several students are getting support from their churches. We have been blessed with churches providing Noondays, and we are blessed to have churches lined up for the rest of the semester. Noonday helps us raise a good amount too. Please pray for Lord to provide for our needs which He knows before we even ask. I cannot thank you enough for all of the prayers and support from our local churches and individuals. The BSU at Jones has enjoyed strong support for many, many years, and I am more than grateful to the Lord for your support. May the Lord bless you as you are a blessing to me and your BSU at Jones.

Sincerely, Frank Porter
